Aquaman does not seem to get the love he deserves. There was
an episode of Family Guy where they mocked him about how he was powerless out of the water. I have never thought that, I have always thought Aquaman was kinda cool. When I was a kid there was an Aquaman cartoon which was my introduction to the character. In this cartoon Aquaman rode a giant seahorse, which was lame, but it left a lasting impression on me. Equipment: Mezco Ventures Over the Rainbow for their Newest Living Dead Doll Line
The very popular Living Dead Doll line from Mezco has decided to follo
w the Yellow Brick road. Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing a Living Dead flying monkey. Is that asking too much? This line should appeal to doll collectors, horror collectors and of course Wizard of Oz collectors. Continue reading

Training Simulations: Call of Duty Advanced Warfare (Single Player) Review
By now you might be familiar with the new Call of Duty Advanced
Warfare from all the advertisement and hype around its release. This is a new form of Call of Duty, specifically dealing with futuristic combat situations and the evolution of equipment that could be available in that future and headlined with the voice acting talents of Kevin Spacey. Activision themselves are also boasting that their new plan is to have one developer work on a new Call of Duty title in three year cycles improving the quality of their games. If true to their word, it will only bring forth big things. I can honestly say that this plan has succeeded with Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, for the most part that is. The single player and multiplayer portions of this Call of Duty are so different in quality and production values that they deserve separate reviews. Continue reading
Equipment: No Love for Joe. How the 50th Anniversary was Just a Sad Farewell to the Greatest Action Figure of All Time
This year the chain store Target ran a television ad asking the
Christmas question, “What D’ya get?” The commercial had a Barbie and several other toys including plastic army men who were all curious about the unseen gift. I know what wasn’t in the box: G.I. Joe, because Joe was absent from shelves this year on his 50th anniversary. So I have to ask, “Why did Hasbro abandon the Real American Hero?” Continue reading
Hard Copy: The Review of The Art of Alien: Isolation from Titan Books
Saying that an art book based on a horror themed video game is beautiful may
seem like a contradiction but not in the case of the Art of Alien Isolation. Yes, the Art of Alien Isolation is gorgeous and it brings back memories of the original Alien from 1979. Continue reading
Equipment: Funko Releases New Pulp Fiction Re-Action Figures
Funko has done a great job producing some of our beloved childhood
characters as toys. Seriously who wouldn’t want a Rocketeer figure or the crew of the ill-fated Nostromo from Alien? Even though they have limited poseability there is something about the Re-Action line that appeals to collectors and fans alike and now that line has taken an unexpected turn. Continue reading
Equipment: Halo UNSC Fleet Officer Bag from Crowded Coop
I have been letting my geek flag fly all of my life. I fully embra
ced my geek side even though I was picked on not just by kids in the neighborhood but by my parents. I constantly lived in a fantasy world and sometimes even dressed the part. It wasn’t rare for me to carrying around a phaser for dangerous situations. I do still dress the part and live a skewed reality but as an adult it is harder to get away with running around in a cape carrying a light saber. So these days I am somewhat more discreet in my everyday cosplaying. Continue reading
