Equipment: Alien Action Figures from NECA Review
Kids these days don’t know how good they have it. I am not makin
g some random old man statement like, “Back in my day…” No I am talking about the amazing amount of seriously cool toys out there. When I was a kid the one thing I really wanted were toys from the movie Alien. I wanted the figures in their spacesuits (I have a thing for spacesuits I don’t know why) but they were never made. Sure Kenner had made some prototypes but they never saw the light of day. They did produce this really cool 18 inch Alien figure, which my little brother got for Christmas and scared the crap out of him, but there were no other toys. It had something to do with producing toys from an “R” rated movie. To quote another movie series, “Fools, bureaucratic fools.”-Indiana Jones Continue reading
Equipment: Batman: Arkham Knight Batmobile Statue Bookends
Batman is one of the most iconic superheroes of all time. Countless c
hildren at one point or another have wanted to be Batman. What is up with that? He has no super powers. He can’t fly nor is he impervious to bullets. Despite these things, he is still one of the most popular superheroes of all time. Continue reading
Hard Copy: Robocop: The Definitive History Review
“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!” When I first saw Robocop i
n 1987 I was completely blown away. Considering the amount of violence, it is a fitting statement. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the Paul Verhoeven classic it tells the story of a Detroit police officer who becomes a law enforcement cyborg. Set in the near future, in a Detroit that is crime ridden and bankrupt, Robocop was ahead of its time. Now Titan books has published Robocop: The Definitive History giving great insight to this classic science fiction movie. Continue reading
Equipment: Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Messenger Bag from The Coop Review
Well, it is that time of year when people flock to ponds, lakes, t
he pool and the ocean for a day in the sun. We are finally able to break free from our winter hibernation and as we plan to head to our various locales we start a check list of what we need to take along. On that list are sunscreen, towel, beverage, flip flops, a good book and possibly a snack. Now that you have all of your gear together you need something to carry it in; fortunately The Coop has you covered. Continue reading
Equipment: Marvel Legends Daredevil Figure Review
The Marvel Legends Infinite Series from Hasbro is becoming one
of my favorite lines. Recently, I had the chance to review the Hulk and Iron Man figures from the recent Avengers’ line and I loved them. I actually keep Iron Man next to the couch and I keep playing with him. Well now, in the new Spider-Man themed line, Hasbro has released a new Daredevil figure. Though not really one of my favorite characters I have found new respect for “the man without fear” since the Netflix series premiered. I liked the dimension that the show gave the character and so when I came across the figure I had to purchase one for myself.
