Toy Fair 2014 is behind us and ahead of us, are mountains of glorious goodies that make the 12 year old inside drool. Back when I went to Toy Fair that first time, I had envisioned that it would be akin to Santa’s workshop. It is nothing like the workshop at the North Pole…it is better. Because Toy Fair is so massive I have had to pick and choose where I stop. Since I am someone who loves action figures, the McFarlane booth draws me back year after year. McFarlane produces figures from horror, video game and sports offering up a little something for any fandom.
I have been collecting McFarlane’s action figures since the beginning. Back then, they were only doing comic book figures from Image Comics. Even though those early figures were amazing, what is coming out soon is beyond incredible. It seems that no matter what property McFarlane is working with they give 110%. You can see this in the level of detail on each figure. Whether it is the actual figure, or just a tiny accessory, you can see the strong attention to detail.
The current products in McFarlane’s lineup include; Halo, Assassin’s Creed, The Walking Dead (both the comic and the television show) as well as figures from all the different sports. McFarlane also has some beautiful statues coming out. Granted the statue of Rick Grimes blowing the back of a walker’s head off isn’t something I would call “beautiful” but, “To each his own.”
McFarlane also is coming out with a line of figures and toys for the cartoon, Rabbids Invasion. Read part 2 of this article to more info on that product line.
Here is a look at some of figures that were at Toy Fair, we will also have some official pics soon.
