Equipment: DaGeDar for the Nintendo DS

DaGedar for the Nintendo DS is based on the collectable marble game of the same name. As the player, you race against the clock to complete the laps on various tracks. Though the controls for the game are very easy it took me a small (I am being generous to myself) amount of time to get the hang of them.
The player can choose from a variety of “character” balls each their own special powers. There are 100 different balls to unlock within the game. Among the abilities that are available are Top Speed, Defense, Acceleration and Attack. There are 50 tracks to choose from, each with its own level do difficulty. There are several modes including Time Attack, Multiplayer and Practice, which is the mode I had to use the most.

You can play DaGeDar either alone or with a friend for hours of enjoyment. This works only if your friend has their own DS and a copy of the game. The “E” rating on this game makes it perfect to play against your children if you have them, or even your parents since this game would be easy enough for them to understand. Though the game is simple it does have its challenges.

If you are the type of person who plays the games on Facebook this is a good game for you. I found DaGeDar to be as enjoyable if not more so than the Facebook games. DaGeDar is a pleasant distraction. This isn’t a game that takes a lot of thought to play, which isn’t such a bad thing. This game wasn’t my favorite to play but is a good time waster.

The DS version of DaGeDar could be a good gift for a young fan of the franchise. The casual adult gamer may also find this a good game to play. DaGeDar is available for the Nintendo DS by Game Mill and retails for 19.99
