Equipment: Unboxing and Review of Spin Master’s Batmobile and Wingsuit Batman from The Batman

Batman is one of those characters that is loved by children and adults alike. Since his creation in 1939 there have been many versions of the “caped crusader” and everyone has their favorite. The newest Batman is portrayed by Robert Pattinson in the film titled, “The Batman.” Each incarnation of Batman means new gadgets, new costume and, of course, a new Batmobile; it also means new toys to collect.

The company producing toys for The Batman is Spin Master. I have reviewed other products from Spin Master over the years and have never been disappointed. Their toys are well made and have a ton of playability. For this review we are looking at the Batmobile for the 4 inch figure line and the 12 inch Wingsuit Batman.

First up is the Batmobile. Measuring approximately 13.5 inches long the Batmobile can accommodate two 4 inch figures. This free rolling vehicle moves quite well with a good push. The Batmobile does require 3 AAA batteries for the light and sound effects. To activate the effects just push the top of the engine. There are 15 different sounds effects that cycle through.

The Batmobile does come with a 4 inch Batman figure. This action figure has multiple points of articulation. These are:

  • Head
  • Shoulders
  • Elbows
  • Hips
  • Thighs
  • Knees

This Batman figure also has non-removable cloth cape.

I really like this Batmobile. Made for children 4+ this vehicle seems like it could take a beating and survive. This is not a flimsy toy and can provide hours of fun for a Batman fan. The Batmobile is available now wherever you purchase your toys and is ready for play right out of the box with no assembly required. Suggested retail for the Batmobile is $29.99.

Next up is the Batman Wingsuit 12 inch action figure. As the name states, this figure stands approximately 12 inches tall and has multiple points of articulation. These are:

  • Head
  • Shoulders
  • Elbows
  • Hips
  • Knees

What makes this figure special is the button on his utility belt, it deploys the wingsuit. You may say to yourself, “Batman doesn’t fly,” which is true but, in the movie he uses this suit to glide through the skies of Gotham. The wingsuit does not give this figure the ability to glide. For that you need your imagination.

Wingsuit Batman is also equipped with sound. When you press the bat symbol on his chest there are 20 plus different sound effects and dialog. Deploying and resetting the wingsuit is a very simple process. As I stated before, press the buckle on Batman’s utility belt and the wings will pop open. If you have the sound on Batman says, “Deploying wingsuit.” To reset the wingsuit hold Batman by the legs and fold the arms down until you hear a click. One thing of note is that the wingsuit cannot be completely removed. You can unclick the “wings” from the legs and arms but the mechanism is permanently attached to the main body.

The Wingsuit Batman stands approximately 12 inches tall. The width of the deployed wingsuit is approximately 15 inches. This action figure required 3 LR44 batteries which are included. There are 3 different modes for sound; off, try me and on. I recommend keeping the sound off when it is not being played with to conserve battery life.

The Wingsuit Batman figure is for kids ages 4 and older. This figure is definitely made for a younger audience. As an adult collector I prefer more poseability in figures. I think they should have given him ankle joints so you could straighten out his feet during flight mode. Other than the moveable ankles I don’t have anything negative to say. This seems to be a well-made figure and it would be a great gift for the young Batman fan in your life.
