E.V.A: New York Comic Con 2011

Another New York Comic Con has come to an end and if it is possible it seemed like it was bigger this year. What was amazing is that regardless of the 3 days that we had to roam the overcrowded halls of the Jacob Javits Center we still didn’t hit everything. Personally, I never even made it to the Anime Con side of the convention.

New York Comic Con sprawled across the entire complex which was a change from last year with the autograph area on the far north of the building. The question is when is big too big? I know that it took me 3 days to get to the far side only to find out that I missed out on the Hallmark exclusive ornament. The gaming sections are still packed with fans with Sunday being the worst of the days. All in all the entire con seem to be less crowded than last year but it is probably because of how it was more spread out.

I am constantly amazed how people manage to keep their energy up for the duration of the convention. The fans at New York Comic Con are amazing. I spoke with security regarding lost and found (lost my business card case) and they told me that people were turning in cameras, wallets with money and credit cards intact as well as other assorted valuables. It make me proud to be not just a geek but a New Yorker.

I am glad that the weekend is over but a part is waiting for next year’s convention. I guess I am a glutton for punishment.
