Equipment: Hallmark Keepsake Ornament U.S.S. Franklin
Star Trek is one of the greatest science fiction franchises
in history. Having endured for more than 50 years Star Trek appeals to geeks of all ages. There have been 5 television shows and 13 movies. Something that popular has to have a slew of collectibles from toys to kitchenware to beer and, my favorite, Christmas ornaments.
The very first Star Trek ornament produced by Hallmark was the original U.S.S. Enterprise from the 1960’s show in 1991. Over the years Hallmark has continued the tradition of producing Star Trek ornaments and not all of them have been ships. Hallmark branched out to produce character ornaments (Kirk, Spock, Worf) and scenes (The Guardian of Forever, Spock’s Death from Wrath of Khan) to capitalize on the differences in the fan base. Personally I am a sucker for the ships and every year I wait to see what is in store for Christmas season. This year’s ornament comes from the last big screen adventure, Star Trek: Beyond. Although many associate the name Peter Parker with 
Spider-Man, the hero’s mantle was taken up by Miles Morales in Ultimate Fallout # 44. Following the death of Peter Parker, the teen Morales became Spider-Man after gaining powers similar to those of the original Spider-Man, which were derived from the bite of a spider genetically engineered by Spider-Man’s nemesis Norman Osborn in an attempt to duplicate those abilities.

Equipment: Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Figures Wave 1…A Review
The summer has barely taken hold and already
theaters are being bombarded with movies. So far we have had Aliens, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bay Watch and, of course, Guardians of the Galaxy. When the first Guardians movie premiered it was surprise hit. Even I didn’t even think it was going to be good (not that my opinion counts) but it was amazing. Guardians of the Galaxy was a cross between a superhero movie and a Star Wars installment. Personally, I think that is why it was a success. Continue reading
