Transmissions: Syfy Channel Announces New and Returning Shows for 2022

SYFY, one of cable’s highest-reaching networks, is celebrating 30 years of redefining genre programming with a dynamic lineup including two new scripted original series, an original film and the return of breakout hits.  

 

New series include “Reginald the Vampire,” a dramedy based on Johnny B. Truant’s “Fat Vampire” book series and starring MCU veteran Jacob Batalon as Reginald Andres, and “The Ark,” a space-set survival drama from writer Dean Devlin that takes place 100 years in the future.

Giant, the 1956 classic film starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, and James Dean in his final role, will be released on Ultra HD Blu-ray and Digital on June 21, it was announced today by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

George Stevens, Sr. won his second Oscar® for directing the sweeping family saga set in Texas during the days of the oil boom. Based on Edna Ferber’s controversial novel, the movie’s release in 1956 was a massive box office hit and garnered 10 Academy Award® nominations.

Scarlet Witch is the probably the most powerful (mutant) character in the MCU. She is a very misunderstood character; the events in Westview during WandaVision made her look like a villain but she is so much more complicated. Her actions were done out of love…even if S.W.O.R.D didn’t see it that way.

The events in Westview may have caused the world to look at the Scarlet Witch as bad guy, but in the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness it seems she is the hero we need. Whether hero or villain, every Marvel character needs an action figure and Wanda Maximoff is no different. Diamond Select has created yet another amazing figure in their ever-growing figure line.

E.V.A.-Awesome Con Announces Full Programming Schedule June 3-5, 2022

Awesome Con, Washington, D.C.’s iconic three-day pop culture convention, announces three days of programming complete with exclusive panels, workshops, meetups and celebrity appearances from Friday, June 3 through Sunday, June 5. Awesome Con will take over the Walter E. Washington Convention Center with a robust lineup of events. LGBTQ+ focused Pride Alley, in partnership with Geeks OUT and Metro Weekly, returns with its largest slate of programming that spotlight LGBTQ+ artists, creators and fans.
