I try to make it to Motor City Comic Con every year and each year it seems to grow larger. I missed last year so when I showed up this year and the con was even larger (a new addition was built on) and it looked impressive. I should rephrase that statement, it was impressive didn’t just look impressive. Spread out through the massive convention hall there seemed to be more dealers in the dealer room and more artists in artist alley. The convention is growing and it has come a long way in 30 years.
Motor City Comic Con runs for 3 days and you would think that by Sunday things would have slowed down but even at 2:30 in the afternoon there were a couple of hundred people in line waiting for entry. Since the convention ended at 5pm there wasn’t much time for the late arrival to get much accomplished but they still came. That is dedication. Continue reading

On May 8th, 2009 Star Trek was reborn. J.J. Abrams brought his vision of Gene Roddenberry’s legacy to the big screen and it was a success. This new version became known as the Kelvin Timeline. This altered timeline changed the origin of Captain Kirk and with it, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. This time around Kirk is portrayed by Chris Pine and Spock by Zachary Quinto.
