Director Jonatan Etzler shares “What I love about Chris’ music is that he is a classically trained composer, but he is very interested in pushing the boundaries of what you can do. of Focus Features’ THE UPRISING Original Motion Picture Soundtrack with music by Academy Award®-winning composer Volker Bertelmann. The album is available everywhere digital music is sold and streamed.
“Working on THE UPRISING in collaboration with Paul Greengrass was a wonderful experience. The biggest challenge was finding a modern approach to a medieval era and capturing the rawness of that time without veering into the thriller genre,” Bertelmann notes. “I worked with distorted cello sounds to make the score feel more dystopian, while at the same time giving it a touch of a modern bagpipe atmosphere to lend the music a hint of a tribal character. Much of medieval music revolves around a simple fifth, and I tried to retain this as a fundamental foundation. I love the story of THE UPRISING because it draws many parallels with the present day and offers insights into how power was wielded in political life centuries ago and the similarities we see today. It’s a pleasure to be a creative part of this film.”

E.V.A.- Idina Menzel Joins New York Comic Con 2026 Lineup
New York Comic Con (NYCC) 2026 is just 
around the corner, and this year’s star-studded lineup continues to grow. Today, ReedPop announced that Idina Menzel (Frozen, Broadway’s Wicked) is the latest star heading to the Javits Center in October.
Idina Menzel will be in attendance on Thursday, October 8, participating in a spotlight panel, Photo Ops, and Autographing opportunities. Menzel joins previously announced guests including Star Wars’ stars Hayden Christensen and Ian McDiarmid; Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300); Matt Smith (House of the Dragon, Doctor Who); Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things, Camelot); puppeteers Matt Vogel (Kermit the Frog) and Dave Goelz (Gonzo the Great) and many more.

Soundwaves: The First Single from the April X Soundtrack by Matthew Atticus Berger is Available Now
Milan Records today released “He 
Won’t Get Far,” the lead single from composer Matthew Atticus Berger’s upcoming score for the film April X. Featuring vocals by Amanda Achen, the single is available now ahead of the full Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, which drops on September 18 to coincide with the film’s worldwide theatrical release. April X will subsequently open in U.S. theaters on October 2.
Berger shares, “‘He Won’t Get Far’ is the theme the entire score grew out of — I wrote it before I’d even seen a frame of the film. It’s built entirely from voice and drums; anything that doesn’t sound human is actually Amanda Achen’s voice, twisted and processed into something else. The track starts with a single voice that slowly multiplies and morphs, layering into an ostinato — a sonic idea that becomes the backbone of the whole score. Amanda sings throughout, always as April, and that opening transformation carries an emotional charge I didn’t fully understand until started working on the rest of the film. The title comes from the villain’s line after he realizes Bax and April have slipped away, and this version of the theme carries the motorcycle chase that follows, her voice pulling Bax forward through all the chaos.”
