Equipment: QMx and Mattel Team Up for Master of the Universe Q-Figs

Quantum Mechanix Inc. (QMx) today announced the company has entered into an agreement with Mattel Inc. to create a new line of their best-selling Q-Figs for Masters of the Universe™.

This licensing deal will allow QMx to produce a new collection of their massively popular Q-Fig collectibles based on Mattel’s iconic characters from classic Masters of the Universe™. The agreement marks the first time the two companies will collaborate, bringing together QMx’s story-centric approach to premium collectibles with Mattel’s rich history of Masters of the Universe™ storytelling.

I have found that when you see something announced online or at Toy Fair there is a chance the toy you want may never go into production.  There were some items I had seen over the years that I fell in love with and sadly they never made it past the prototype phase. Growing up in the 1980’s 3 ¾ inch G.I. Joes were the norm. The return of the 12 inch Joes didn’t happen until the mid-1990’s so for many fans of G.I. Joe, the 3 ¾ size is the preferred collectible. Some of us still have figures and vehicles from the original line so these new figures fit right in with our collections.

Walmart has some exclusive 3 ¾ inch figures for kids and collectors alike. These will definitely bring back fond memories of playing in your backyard on warm summer days…or even freezing winter days (for those arctic battles).  Seeing these figures really does bring back memories of simpler times before “adulthood” took over. I guess it is time to go shopping and be a kid again…YO JOE!

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel began their next phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This new phase is not only bringing fans new movies it also includes television shows. These new shows are broadcast on the Disney Plus streaming service and they are so much better than I expected. Disney turned Friday nights back into TGIF, aka must see television night. (As of publication of this review Disney has chosen Wednesday as the new Marvel shows night)

I know it sounds silly to say that Christmas ornaments have changed since we were children but they have changed. When I think of my childhood Christmas tree, I picture a tree covered in multi-colored fragile glass balls, garland, blinking lights and the occasional candy cane.
