“REVEAL YOUR SHIELD,” a TRANSFORMERS celebration that will offer fans five days of TRANSFORMERS content and product reveals, beginning on April 24th with the release of Hasbro’s first wave of toys and consumer products inspired by the TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT film. Throughout the week fans will be encouraged to “reveal their shield,” using social media, TRANSFORMERS.COM or the official TRANSFORMERS mobile app to declare their allegiance to the Autobots or Decepticons. Just announced on the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel at
STAR WARS CELEBRATION in Orlando, Disney Licensed Publishing, an imprint of Disney Book Group, LLC, has granted IDW Publishing the license to create and publish new Star Wars comic books aimed at younger readers.
“Lucasfilm is thrilled to expand our relationship with the talented and creative folks at IDW to bring Star Wars comics to kids,” said Michael Siglain, Creative Director of Lucasfilm Publishing. “IDW has an incredible pedigree of talent, and we look forward to working with them on the creation of these fun, action-packed adventures that span the entire Star Wars saga.” Continue reading
Vids: A Street Cat Named Bob Comes Home Next Month on DVD and Blu-Ray
Cleopatra Entertainment LLC, the movie division of
famed indie record label Cleopatra Records, has acquired all domestic rights to the feel-good true story A Street Cat Named Bob, directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Turner and Hooch, Tomorrow Never Dies) and starring Luke Treadaway (Unbroken), Ruta Gedmintas (The Strain) and Joanne Froggatt (Downtown Abbey). The film, written by Tim John and Maria Nation, is based on the international bestseller by James Bowen and Garry Jenkins. Produced by Adam Rolston for Shooting Script Films, the uplifting story will be released domestically in theaters on November 18th, 2016. Continue reading

Massive shoulder pads, big hair that required a whole can of hair spray to keep in place, Cabbage Patch Kids and David Lynch’s big screen version of Dune to name a few. There were also some amazing things that came out of the 1980s such as Miami Vice, awesome music and the sequel to the sci-fi horror hit Alien. One of the most anticipated films of 2016 had to be
Rogue One: A Star Wars story. I think one of the reasons for this was that this was the first feature length film set in the Star Wars universe that isn’t about the Skywalker family tree. Fans could have just dismissed the entire concept of a Star Wars film without the characters we grew up loving but they didn’t. They embraced it. Fortunately, the movie wasn’t just good; it was everything I had hoped and expected. Bottom line is that Rogue One: A Star Wars story is a great war movie. Continue reading

Twenty years ago, audiences were dazzled by the visionary images
and epic adventure of “The Fifth Element.” To celebrate the 20th anniversary of director Luc Besson’s groundbreaking film, Fathom Events and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will present a 4K restoration of the film in movie theaters nationwide for two days only, on Sunday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 17 at 2:00 and 7:00 p.m. (local time) both days.
