Equipment: New from Playmates Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the Ghostbusters
The original Ghostbusters’ movie has real staying power.
Aside from the 80s music the movie actually holds up for the new millennia. When Ghostbusters first hit the screen in 1984 it broke records. Ghostbusters held the record for highest grossing comedy movie until Home Alone came along in 1990. I must admit that Ghostbusters earned that title and really should have kept it but, that’s life. Surprisingly Ghostbusters are still popular and even my nieces and nephews, who weren’t even a gleam in their parent’s eyes in 1984, know and love this movie. Continue reading

Equipment: Marvel Select Destroyer Figure from Diamond Select Toys
I must admit that I never read Thor comics when
I was a kid. Hell, even as an adult I never read Thor comics. My first real exposure to The God of Thunder was the cheesy Marvel Cartoon from the 1960’s (I can still hear the theme song in my head). I don’t remember the Destroyer being in the cartoon but I do remember it in the 2011 movie.
The Destroyer is Asgardian armor that has been forged by Odin. In the movie, Loki sends the armor to kill Thor while is on Earth and powerless. The Destroyer has the ability to shoot powerful beams of energy from his face-plate. These devastating blasts leveled many of the buildings in the small town where Thor was staying. It wasn’t until Thor regained his power that he was able to defeat the magical armor. Continue reading
E.V.A.-New York Comic Con Coverage for Friday October 6 with Rob Banks
Everyone who is everyone is at New York
Comic Con. I’ve watched this con go from a medium sized con, thrown in February to the juggernaut that it is today. 4 days of complete insanity. I crush of humanity…unwashed humanity for the most part. I remember the “good old days” when the con organizers would call me and ask if I wanted a press pass. Oh how times have changed.
One of our men on the scene is the main man over at The Red Cup Review, Rob Banks. Rob was in the thick of it on Friday and I know that he will be there again over the weekend so he is a braver man than I. Continue reading
