Equipment: Hallmark Keepsake Ornament P-5000 Power Work Loader from Aliens
I love that Hallmark has embraced icons
from Pop Culture and is turning them into Christmas ornaments. I am sure that ornaments based on television and movie characters date back long before the 1990’s but my first recollection of a Keepsake Ornament that wasn’t typical Christmas fare was in 1991 when the first U.S.S. Enterprise was released. I guess for me that was when I felt I could really personalize my Christmas tree. No longer was I limited to reindeer, penguins and Santas, I could have starships, Hot Wheels and Muppets. Continue reading
Equipment: Blade Runner 2046 Action Figures from NECA
Back in 1982 when the first Blade Runner movie
came out there weren’t many toys made for the movie. I believe the only company that had the license to do toys was Ertl which produced die-cast metal cars. There were no Blade Runner action figures made for the 1982 movie. Over the years there have been non-licensed figures produced but nothing official. These non-licensed figures were labeled “Android Hunter” and were ridiculously expensive. Now 35 years later we have a sequel to Blade Runner and with the new movie, a new line of toys. Hard Copy: The Art of the Film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Review
Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets is the latest
film from acclaimed French director, Luc Besson. Based on a French comic book by Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mezieres, Valerian was perfect for the big screen treatment. The movie was filled with stunning visuals and fantastic beings in all shapes and sizes. Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets was beautiful to watch. Sadly, there is so much to look at on the screen it is hard to see everything. Continue reading
Equipment: Previews Exclusive Mezco One: 12 Judge Dredd Figure Review
Although Judge Dredd has been around since 1977
he was not popular in the United States until after the horrible Judge Dredd Sylvester Stallone movie premiered. Though the movie was a steaming pile of excrement it did introduced a whole new audience to the character. Then in 2012 Judge Dredd was brought back to the big screen in an adaptation that was closer to his comic book counterpart. Continue reading
