There are Star Wars fans who genuinely hated
Solo: A Star Wars Story. Personally I felt it wasn’t a completely horrible movie though it was slow. I enjoyed how fans were introduced to one of the most important characters in science fiction before they had grown old and looked overused, but even old and decrepit the Millennium Falcon is still the best. Seriously though, even if you didn’t love the movie you have to admit that there were some interesting characters. One of my favorite characters from Solo: A Star Wars Story was Tobias Beckett played by Woody Harrelson. Continue reading

Equipment: A Review of the Marvel Select Black Panther Figure from Diamond Select Toys
Unlike most of his superhero brethren, The
Black Panther seems to have an overabundance of responsibilities. More than just a superhero, he is a statesman, warrior, king and lastly, an Avenger. The events that led to him to becoming Black Panther and the king of Wakanda are explained in Captain America: Civil War (2016) and Black Panther (2018) so if you have questions you should go watch those movies then continue to read this review.

Training Simulations: New from North Star Games a Card Game Based on “The Dude” Character from The Big Lebowski
The dude arrives. North Star Games is excited to
introduce its brand new game dude, now available exclusively at Target and Target.com. The game dude celebrates the versatility of a word that can be a question (dude?), an exclamation (dude!), an objection (DUDE), an expression of wonder (dooode), and many other things.
To play dude, each player has a set of cards that shows the word “dude” in 6 different ways. Everyone sits around the table saying “dude” in these different ways, all at once. You try to match with someone who you think is saying “dude” in the same way you are.
“It’s all about intonation, pronunciation, and body language,” states Dominic Crapuchettes, Founder and Co-President of North Star Games. “Is someone saying ‘dude?’, ‘dewd’, ‘dooode’ or just…‘dude’? dude simply celebrates all the beautiful ways that this amazing word can be said.”

I guess this is my old man rant…kids these days lack
something previous generations had in abundance, imagination. Even the most popular toys are ones linked to some kind of cartoon, movie or video game. I am a fan of encouraging a child’s imagination. Whether it is an imaginary friend, a living room floor that is made of lava or just imagining you are living on a distant planet, children need an imagination. Equipment: At San Diego Comic Con Hasbro Unveils Newest Toys in the Star Wars Line
Some people wait all year for the Super Bowl, 
the World Series, the Stanley Cup or even Wimbledon but for geeks it is San Diego Comic Con. The largest Pop Culture gathering in the world, the convention in San Diego is like the holy land for nerds. The importance of this con is simple it is the release of information. San Diego is where new movie trailers are released, stars come to talk about upcoming projects and toy companies reveal what is yet to come. Seriously, you would think that these toy reveals would be at the International Toy Fair in February…you would think that but you would be wrong. Equipment: Marvel Select Gladiator Thor from Thor: Ragnarok Figure
Diamond Select produces some incredible figures.
Not all of them are perfect but in my opinion they produce more hits than misses. There are several factors that go into how I formulate a review including both poseability and sculpt and Diamond does a fine job on both sides. Speaking of Diamond Select I really wanted to see what the Thor from Thor: Ragnarök from their Marvel Select line was like and what I found was a near perfect action figure. Continue reading

Hard Copy: The Art of Solo: A Star Wars Story
I think my fascination with production art and 
designs goes back to when I saw Ralph McQuarrie’s art for the first Star Wars movie. Here we are many, many years later and I am still enthralled by art books.
