Equipment: Hallmark wants to Wish You a Super (hero) Christmas with the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament of Iron Man
Hallmark has really changed the way we decorate
our Christmas trees. When I was a wee lad, read this part in an old man’s voice because whenever you hear a story start with, “when I was young…” that is someone drifting into old folk’s thinking. Now where was I? Of course. When I was just a wee lad our Christmas tree was always beautifully decorated; (my step-father liked to decorate the tree) each branch was a perfect balance of lights, glass bulbs, garland and tinsel, or icicles if you prefer. The tree wasn’t an extension of the personalities within the household; it could have been in any Christmas lover’s home. As beautiful as it was it lacked individuality. I am sure the reason it lacked personality was the fact that there weren’t any ornaments on the market to make it unique. I think if my step-father could have found a Buffalo Bills ornament it would have been on our tree. Continue reading

Equipment: Hallmark 50th Anniversary U.S.S. Enterprise Keepsake Ornament
50 years is a long time. It is a long time to be married,
a long time to be alive but if you are a television show, 50 years is an unprecedented long time to stay popular. The television show I am talking about is Star Trek: The Original Series. In 1966 a new science fiction show created by a LAPD motorcycle cop premiered and the sci-fi landscape was changed forever. Star Trek is everywhere. It is being rerun on numerous television stations, the original crew has been re-booted for the big screen and there are even Star Trek Christmas Ornaments. Continue reading
Equipment: Hallmark Goes to the Far Reaches of the Galaxy this Christmas with the Alien Queen Keepsake Ornament
Some people love Christmas. You can see it when you go into their
houses and you see the tiny Santa Claus figures, hordes of reindeer and snowmen covering their trees and shelves. Personally I like to decorate in a less conventional manner. I like to let my geek flag fly, especially around the holidays because the decorations are an extension of my quirky personality. This is why I like the Keepsake Ornaments from Hallmark. Continue reading

Equipment: Jyn Erso (EADU) K-Mart Exclusive Action Figure Review
We have less than a month before one of the most
anticipated movies of the year (possibly decade), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives. The toys have been out for roughly a month and a half and some are more sought after than others; by that I mean the retailer exclusives. Personally, I hate retailer exclusives because usually the only way to score one is on the secondary market from the jackals that seem to have an inside track. The example that comes to mind are the Walmart exclusives, both last year’s Battlefront Trooper and this year’s Scarif Trooper. The stores and the website have never had them but one search on eBay will bring up tons. I actually saw a listing with the Scarif Trooper in the foreground and cases of figures in the background. Not all K-Mart exclusives are as hard to find such as these two. Last year K-Mart offered Kylo Ren and Rey exclusives and this year the exclusive is Sergeant Jyn Erso. Jyn Erso is who we are reviewing here. Continue reading
