Transmissions: Review of AMC’s New Show Preacher

When it comes to television, we have come a long way from the daysPreacher of Ozzie and Harriet. Some of the new shows seem to be going for shock over substance, although there are some that can manage both. So in the day and age of shows like “Game of Thrones” and “The Walking Dead”, the bloodiness of AMC’s newest series, “Preacher” should come as no surprise. The pilot episode begins in space where we spy an ethereal being as it searches through our solar system. When this entity arrives at Earth it interrupts a religious service and chooses the minister as its host. We learn quickly that this entity’s power cannot be contained as the minister explodes, showering the congregation in blood. Hell of a way to start a show.

Vids: Deadpool, the Merc with a Mouth Comes to Home Video

Comic book fans have wanted to see Deadpool on the big screen for years.Deadpool Box Art The character did make it to the silver screen once before in the horrible film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine but that film ruined the character. Ryan Reynolds portrayed the “Merc with the Mouth” and he was perfect. The script on the other hand was not. One of the greatest things about Deadpool is his smartass mouth and as you know in X-Men Origins they sewed his mouth shut. Everyone familiar with the character screamed a collective WTF? The only thing that those film makers did correctly was cast Ryan Reynolds. Reynolds was born to play this role.

 

So let us forget that disaster from 2009 and flash forward to 2016 when the real Deadpool finally made it to the big screen. Continue reading →

Directed by Dave Green and produced by Michael Bay, the film is a sequel to the 2014 blockbuster film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and will be in theaters June 3. The collection of movie toys from Playmates Toys includes a broad assortment of products for Turtles’ fans of all ages, including action figures, vehicles, playsets, role play gear and movie-themed additions to the company’s existing T-Machines, T-Sprints and Mini Figure collections. E.V.A.- The Cast of Daredevil Are Hitting Wizard World Chicago
