Soundwaves: Hollywood Records Releases “STRANGE BREW”, Single from Alien: Earth by Noah Hawley and Jeff Russo

Today FX and Hollywood Records released “Strange Brew”, a new single from the hit original sci-fi series “Alien: Earth”. The track is a cover of the classic song made famous by British rock supergroup, Cream, and is performed by “Alien: Earth” series creator Noah Hawley and series composer, Jeff Russo.

Russo shares, “It’s always so great to get into the studio with Noah to make music. Making ‘Strange Brew’ was a blast, and it gave us the opportunity to make a full version of our titles for the show.”

Soundwaves: The Toxic AVENGER–Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Music by Brooke Blair & Will Blair

Lakeshore Records releases The Toxic Avenger — Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, featuring a wildly eclectic score and original songs by composers Brooke and Will Blair. In this unhinged reimagining of Lloyd Kaufman’s 1984 cult classic, the Blair Brothers capture the chaos, the silliness and the triumphant heart of the original Troma trilogy.
 
The guitar-drenched orchestral score careens from surfy crime-jazz and occult rock to Bossa Nova, classic superhero motifs, and an unhinged take on Mussorgsky’s “Night on Bald Mountain” (featured in the original Toxic Avenger) — complete with burps, farts, and the Prague Philharmonic. The pair also deliver original songs, including the nu-rap/slop-rock hit “(We Are) Crazy and Dangerous” from on-screen goth villains The Killer Nutz, their B-side “My Baby is an Axe,” and the classic Doo Wop ode to young lovers “The Good Things” by fictional ’50s group The Whoopsie Dews.

Vids: AnimEigo Announces HD Blu-ray Release of A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose

Anime distributor announced the home media license for A Time Slip of 10,000 Years: Prime Rose during its panel at Anime NYC. The fantasy adventure feature film is based on a manga by legendary creator Osamu Tezuka and will be released as an HD Blu-ray edition next year. AnimEigo and parent company MediaOCD acquired the license from SkySet Entertainment.

Osamu Tezuka is widely celebrated as the “Godfather of Manga,” and is renowned for revolutionizing the Japanese manga and anime industries with his imaginative characters, pioneering storytelling techniques and prolific output, which included more than 700 manga works and 500 anime episodes, including groundbreaking works like Astro Boy, Princess Knight, and Kimba the White Lion.

Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids.
